Five-Day Private Film Workshop
Private photography workshop
This is an opportunity to study darkroom techniques with one of the foremost authorities
working today. Application of techniques found in Anchell's three best-selling
books, The Darkroom Cookbook, The Variable Contrast Printing Manual, and
The Film Developing Cookbook will be emphasized.
In the field Steve teaches camera techniques from beginners to large-format, depending on the
interest of the student. He works to improve the photographer's technical skill and their ability
to "see" and record the world in their own unique way. Field technique may be combined with
darkroom if the student is interested in both.
Quotes from students:
"I have found an improvement in my prints and the things I learned are starting to
come about more naturally. I have started to put together a high quality portfolio of my . . . work."
-- Carl Oelerich, Salt Lake City, Utah
"I just got back to my studio. I learned a lot with your workshop and I can tell you the
exhibition prints looked much better than the ones you saw."
-- Cecilia Arboleda, Miami, Florida
"The workshop in Crestone was magical, what a beautiful place to work. Thanks to you,
I learned more in 5 days about black and white photography technique than I learned, mostly
by trial and error, over the past thirty years. My printing skills improved tremendously. I'm looking
forward to taking another workshop with you in the future."
-- Jonathan Furer, Tenafly, New Jersey
